| After the ban on Christianity was lifted and believers returned to the area, a church dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel was constructed in 1931. Forty years after its dedication, a statue of St. Francis Xavier was installed, and the church has since become known as the “Hirado Xavier Memorial Church,” a cherished landmark honoring the legacy of Christian mission in Hirado. |
