Akanamie Church rises on a steep hillside with sweeping views of the Goto Nada Sea. In the 1870s, this small community consisted of only a handful of Christian households, yet missionaries such as Sogoro Osera, Sukesaku Akabanamie, and Kita Akabanamie played an active role in supporting nearby Christian settlements.
Even today, although only a few families remain, the church continues to serve as a quiet and cherished place of prayer for its faithful community.
