The first church was established in 1914 through the purchase of half of Aokata Elementary School. A second church followed in 1932, incorporating the finest timber from the original building, and the present church was completed in 1984. Perched on a hillside just off the national highway, its striking white façade contrasts beautifully with the surrounding greenery.

From its elevated position overlooking the world first offshore oil storage base, visitors can also enjoy a sweeping and memorable view.
