Can I inquire about tours for guests who speak languages other than English?

Packaged tours are offered in English only. Customized tours can be tailored for other languages. Please contact us using the inquiry form or via email.

Can Hanetabi Tours assist in booking airline tickets?

As an air ticket agent, we can assist with airline ticket bookings exclusively for those who purchase our tours.

How many types of hotels are there in Japan? What is a futon bed?

Do you offer options for special meals such as vegan, vegetarian, halal, allergies etc.?

Can I enter public baths or hot springs with a tattoo?

In most cases, you cannot enter public baths or hot springs with a tattoo. However, if you join our customized trips, you can request an option for a private hot spring, a chartered bath, or tattoo-friendly hotels.

Are the tours senior-friendly?

Yes, most of our tours are senior-friendly.

I have a disability. Is it possible to tailor the tour to accommodate my specific needs?

We will do our utmost to accommodate your needs, though it’s important to note that not all specific requests may be feasible. We recommend having someone accompany you for assistance during the trip. Please be aware that some arrangements may incur additional fees, which customers are responsible for paying.

What type of clothing is appropriate for me to pack?

What is the limit on the number of suitcases I am allowed to bring?

Packaged trips: Limit of 1 checked baggage and 1 carry on per person (Child under 6 years old are allowed 1 carry on only). We may refuse excess luggage.

Customized trips: Customers can discuss the number of luggage pieces they wish to bring. We will arrange vehicles to accommodate all luggage. Please note that in some cases, this may incur an extra fee, which customers are responsible for paying.

Do I need vaccination shots?

Generally, entry to Japan does not require any special vaccinations. However, if you are participating in a cultural exchange tour or a school life exchange with Japanese pupils or students, you may be required to have vaccinations such as influenza.

Are there laundry facilities provided at the hotels?

All of our hotels offer laundry services, and some hotels have coin operated laundry facilities on site. If you would like to know about the laundry options for a specific hotel, please feel free to inquire on a case by case basis.

Is tipping for services required?

In Japan, where tipping is not customary, you have the freedom to decide whether to tip our staff, but only if you feel that the service provided to you was exceptionally good.

Will I be provided with trip documents in advance of my tour departure?

Do children receive a discount when they attend tours with us?

How Can I Make a Reservation?

Can I book a tour via phone?

We do not accept bookings over the phone. All bookings must be submitted via email or through our online booking form.

Do I need to pay extra when customizing Tours?

Packaged tours: No customization available.

Customized tours: we welcome you to customize them as you wish. However, please note that any customizations will incur additional charges, which customers are responsible for paying.

Can you help me find a roommate to avoid the single supplement charge?

Customers must arrange their own roommates.

Questions about Cancellation Policy
What is the cancellation policy?

Can I cancel a tour without charge due to accidents, illness, personal reasons (e.g., financial issues, inability to take vacation, important events), or natural disasters?

Only cancellations initiated by the company are eligible for a refund, as outlined in our cancellation policy.

What is the procedure if the number of people in a group changes?

Packaged Tours: An increase or decrease in the number of participants does not affect the tour price.

Customized Tours: If the number of participants increases or decreases, the tour fee per person may be adjusted accordingly.
